 Taipei City Secured Small Loans Service (TCSSLS) has launched the "Newborn Blessing Subsidy " and accepts customers' applications until October 31, 2023. Eligible customers are welcome to apply.

The objective of the TCSSLS is to provide relief and care for the disadvantaged. Except for offering the lowest pawnshop interest rates nationwide, the TCSSLS also provides various forms of cash gifts, such as the "Excellent Academic Performance Blessing Subsidy", "Progress in Academic Performance Blessing Subsidy", "Vocational Training Completion Blessing Subsidy", "Successful Job Hunting Blessing Subsidy", and "Recovery Blessing Subsidy ". These cash gifts are practical actions to express encouragement and care for customers.

In line with Mayor Chiang Wan-an's "Happy Parenting" policy and the concept of easing the burden on young parents and creating a friendly parenting environment, the aim of launching the "Newborn Blessing Subsidy " is to alleviate the financial pressure of raising children for customers and show care and blessings for newborns.

Commissioner You Shih-ming of the Department of Finance stated that the TCSSLS has provided blessing funds since 2008, benefiting thousands of people. Some customers' children had received the "Excellent Academic Performance Blessing Subsidy " since junior high school and completed their university education. This year, the TCSSLS launched the "Newborn Blessing Subsidy " to give substantial assistance to customers, expressing the blessing that newborns will grow safely in the friendly parenting environment established by the city government.

Director Zhang Ya-hui of the TCSSLS further explained that although the "Newborn Blessing Subsidy " for infants under one year old is only NT$3,000, Taipei City residents who are qualified clients can enjoy a special monthly interest rate of only 0.62%. If they can receive the "Newborn Blessing Subsidy", it is equivalent to obtaining an interest-free loan of NT$80,000 for 6 months. It will particularly help families with urgent financial assistance.
