Hu also added that on top of the aggressive growth momentum, efforts are being made to contain debt, so to save the interest on debt. In July 2024 alone, the City Government has reduced another NT$2 billion in debt, further reducing the average debt of each citizen from NT$36300 to NT$29000. It’s also estimated that annual reduction of debt could top NT$170 million. Looking forward, Taipei City Government will continue to promote investment growth while keeping a lid on the debt.
