The Department of Finance (DOF) of the Taipei City Government (TCG) implements electronic centralized disbursement reached 99.9% with environmental sustainability, and invites the public to apply for electronic tax bills on Earth Day to save paper together.
In order to implement the 2050 Net Zero Emissions goal and environmental sustainability, the DOF actively promotes the electronization of centralized disbursement, and encourages payees to receive funds via electronic remittance. The remittance ratio of the disbursement was as high as 99.9%. In addition to reducing the risk of loss and theft of checks received by the public, payees can get money more quickly and smoothly. Through electronic centralized disbursement service, approximately 1.36 million pieces of paper can be saved, 163 fewer trees can be cut down, and 24,000 kilograms of carbon emissions can be reduced each year, achieving environmental sustainability goals. Commissioner Hu, Hsiao-Lan of the DOF said that the DOF implements concept of net-zero sustainable governance, in addition to promoting the electronization of centralized disbursement, the DOF also actively encourages the public to use electronic tax bills and cloud invoices to reduce the paper consumption and carbon emissions generated by the printing of traditional paper tax bills and invoices. It is hoped that the public sector will take the lead and encourage private business groups to work together towards net zero environmental protection. Commissioner Hu further said that in addition to applying online or from the TaipeiPASS APP, the public can also apply for electronic tax bills for regular levied taxes, such as vehicle license tax, house tax and land value tax at 12 branches of Taipei City Revenue Service (TRS). The public is also welcome to download the Uniform Invoice Lottery Redemption APP and apply for mobile barcodes, develop the habit of storing cloud invoices in a carrier, and avoid the trouble of storing paper invoices and making it difficult to redeem prizes, so as to protect the environment and love the earth together. The DOF finally stated that in response to the April 22 Earth Day with the public together, on April 22, the Disbursement Division of the DOF on the 1st floor of the Municipal Building added a service counter. In addition to the on-site guidance for applying for the electronic tax bills service, 1 copy of the exquisite advocacy gift will be presented after the application is completed (while supplies last). The DOF hopes that on this special day, by promoting electronic centralized disbursement, tax bills and e-invoices, we can reduce paper waste, protect the earth and achieve the Net Zero Emissions policy goal by 2050.
