DOF cooperated with the "2024 Taipei International Dragon Boat Championships" event to set up stands under the Dazhi Bridge to promote tobacco and alcohol law education on June 8, 2024 (Saturday). The theme of this promotion is "Prohibition of Online Sales of Tobacco and Alcohol, Prohibition of Reselling Duty-free Tobacco and Alcohol". Remind the public to refrain from violating the law to avoid penalties.

DOF states that due to the prevalence of e-commerce, people often sell alcohol that they do not drink at home on online platforms. It reminds the public that engaging in online sales is illegal, and regardless of whether a transaction is completed, offenders may face fines ranging from NT$10,000 to 50,000.

When traveling abroad, duty-free tobacco and alcohol brought back from abroad can only be used personally or given as gifts. Selling them is prohibited, and offenders may face fines ranging from NT$30,000 to 500,000.

If someone finds illegal tobacco and alcohol, she or he can call the Citizens Service Hotline 1999 to extension 6294 or through report mailbox prosecute01@gov.taipei to report fraud. If it is verified that it is illegal tobacco or illegal alcohol, a reporting reward is calculated as 20% to 30% amount of fines. The maximum amount for each case is NT$6,000,000. The public is welcome to fight against the illegality to maintain personal health.

They can learn about knowledge related to tobacco and alcohol laws through lively and vibrant animations. This event saw enthusiastic participation from the public, creating a memorable and special Dragon Boat Festival experience together. The atmosphere on-site was lively, and the event was a complete success.
